Join a dynamic ecosystem of agro- and food pioneers

​ENVOLVE is an innovation ecosystem including a Transformation arena where we connect, catalyze and combine actors ranging from innovative agtech, foodtech and carbontech ventures to large traditional industrial corporations. ENVOLVE is financed by the Region of Halland and run from the Enterprise Unit at the Municipality of Falkenberg, Sweden. The mission is to create a fast-paced and dynamic environment where ENVOLVE serves as an ecosystem platform orchestrating transformation in the food and agricultural system. It is a platform for companies to "test before invest" and provides a virtual infrastructure, a physical infrastructure for all societal actors to integrate and innovate. 

The long term vision is to make Halland a more resilient and futureproof place with a vibrant agro and food ecosystem of innovation and change for a better future. 

The ENVOLVE Transformation Arena

To take it down to earth, we have formed a number of innovation ecosystem nodes for agro-tech and food-tech companies and organizations to enter. We have identified some core nodes that will leverage change in the system. The nodes are listed below. Please contact us if you want to join in on the work in any of the nodes or suggest a new ecosystem node in the ENVOLVE project ecosystem.

Food for a long life

The local food system presents a powerful synergy with the longevity sector. The abundance of primary clean produce and the strong tradition of food innovation can support research into nutritional aspects of longevity. We could develop a specialized innovation environment focusing on the relationship between dietary patterns and longevity outcomes. The natural extension of food is health. Halland has the longest average lifespan in Sweden, and although not officially recognized as a blue zone, it has the potential to become one, and the number of centenarians are telling it could.

Futureproof Farming

Regenerative agriculture that harvest carbon from the atmosphere and build increased carbon and biodiversity in agri-soils. Building soils for biodiversity and increased ecosystem service functions. Solskensfarmarna and Sundhults Hemman are active node partners, and Regenerativt Sverige serves as advisors. The project is connected to the pilot study Framtidssäkrat Regenerativt Lantbruk i Halland.

Agtech

Agriculture powered by automation, A.I., machine learning and robotics.  For companies wanting to access knowledge and competence in the realm of artificial intelligence, we have a collaboration with prominent researchers, software and business developers from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Halmstad University and the hub of AI.m Halland. New fertilizer products are developed by active node partner EcoNitrate.

Blue Foods 

Farming in marine environments is key to food security around the globe. Seaweed is a source for nutrients, but also pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications. Opportunities for co-locating with emerging offshore windpower farms and fishing harbours makes our region a perfect spot. Blue Fields, KOBB, Swedish Kelp and Upcyclr are active node partners.

Next generation meat with less climate impact.  Halland hosts a large precision fermentation facility currently open to new partnering opportunities.

Food Resilience

Local food producers in the Falkenberg food cluster are continually bringing together the local prime raw materials for their gastronomical wizardry. The local actors are connecting to a global community of chefs and cultural influences. By bringing in the power of grocery chains such as ICA, there is also a possibility to reach the mainstream consumer. The municipal company Destination Falkenberg AB and Falkenbergs Skafferi network are active node partners. Decentralised and symbiotic industrial production of all inputs and residue streams is one of the goals. Here we are part of the Industrial and Urban Symbiosis project.

Digital transformation  

The Envolve ecosystem actively build and facilitate the formation of a digital innovation hub to facilitate the transformation towards sustainable-centered AI and ReFi initiatives within the web3 industry. ​The project is part of the Nordic Test Bed Network for digital transformation in the agtech and foodtech fields.

Pilot demo education and innovation 

The project is a steering group member in Nationell Yrkesutbildning Småskalig Yrkesodlare, where the project is structuring the new urban market garden greenhouse as an innovation platform. Companies LeTavis and Noviora are node partners.
